Vaishravani was the sister of Ravana and the wife of Vidyutjihva. She became a widow a few days after marriage. She wanted to remarry Ram, but both Ram and Lakshman refused to marry her. Vaishravani thought that all this happened because of Sita, so when she attacked Sita, Lakshman cut off her nose and ears and made her ugly. This novel is based on the life of this Vaishravani. Originally this novel was written in Oriya language and was a bestseller. Apart from the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2010, this work has received many other awards.
