This is the Hindi translation of a bestseller and very popular Marathi play of the same name. This play is a drama of the struggle between two characters. One is the Anglo-Indian jailer Mr. Glad, whose name alone sends shivers down the spines of the prisoners and jail staff, and on hearing the sound of his footsteps even the birds sitting on the trees stop chirping in fear, but he himself is a victim of internal conflict. On the other hand is Veerbhushan Patnaik, a Naxalite, who is sentenced to death and sent to jail. As soon as these two come face to face, a conflict between the two individuals begins. The conflict continues till the end and the audience is unable to decide who won. This play has been staged at many places even before its publication. It is being staged in Gujarati and a Hindi film with the same name has also been made on this play.
