When guests or grooms were being entertained and fed at a wedding or other event, the Chuhra people would wait outside the door with large baskets. After the grooms had finished eating, their plates of thick leaves would be placed in the baskets. They would go home and carefully collect the thick food from the leaves and enjoy themselves. The children would smile when they found half a piece of leftover luchi, half a piece of sweet, or a piece of curry stuck to the leaves. The leftovers were eaten with great fun. And the grooms whose food and leaves were completely shredded would be asked where these hungry people came from! It seemed that the grooms had never had a chance to eat. So they ate everything. The elders would tell funny stories about these leftovers. They would share some memories with excitement every now and then. Once, a wedding party came who had found a lot of thorns. They had been eaten for months. It is hard to imagine that anyone could remember the memory of even receiving leftovers with such joy.
