On full moon nights, mysterious sounds emerge from deep within the lagoons of Mattakalappu, Ilankai. Those sounds are said to have stopped during the three decades of civil war. The mermaid Ila, who has lived for a very long time in those waters, speaks and sings about her world (and the worlds of mermaids everywhere).
