In 1979, Prof. Karam Tej Singh Sarao graduated with a first-class M.A. (History) from Delhi University. He then completed his Ph.D. and M.Phil. (Chinese & Japanese Studies) at Delhi University. From 1985 to 1989, Prof. Sarao served as a Commonwealth Scholar at the University of Cambridge (U.K.), where he earned his second doctorate. Prof. Sarao joined the Department of Buddhist Studies at Delhi University in 1993 after spending more than ten years as a professor there. He is currently the Professor Head of the department. Eight books and more than 40 research papers and articles by Professor Sarao are among his accomplishments. In the UK, Canada, Germany, and other countries, he has served as a visiting professor at several universities.
