Rakhaldas Banerjee was credited with bringing the Indus Valley Civilization to the world by excavating Mohenjo-daro in 1922, but in 1924, the discovery was announced to the whole world in the name of Sir John Marshall. Despite his great contribution to Indian history, Rakhaldas' work was completely neglected and he lost his job and died at a very young age. He wanted to publish the report of the Mohenjo-daro excavation as a book, but his hope did not come true because Sir Marshall did not return the report to him on time. Although the report was recovered, his photographs were never found by Marshall and that is why the report remained unfinished for so long. This book is the first Bengali translation of Rakhaldas' original excavation report in the light of modern research. It has been enriched with detailed notes, historical context and newly discovered information, and an attempt has been made to make it easy for the readers to understand. An attempt has been made to make the book beautiful by including images from Marshall, Mackay, and Wheeler's reports, as well as some images directly from Mohenjo-daro.
